Look, we get it, sometimes full body workouts can be a bit much. Having to do exercises that hit every major group, you may feel a bit like you’ve left something out. On the other hand, individual group splits may get old, while the old push, pull, and legs routine might be getting a bit stale after a while. When you need to switch it up, pairing muscle groups that normally aren’t are a perfect way to revamp your regiment. Follow along with Chris Heria for his effective Legs + Back Dumbbell Workout. With only a pair of dumbbells in combination with the right calisthenics exercises, you can get a super effective leg AND back workout from home.
Now while at home you feel a bit limited with what workouts you can do, ESPECIALLY if you only have one pair of dumbbells laying around. However, you may be wrong about that as when used effectively you can get a lot of mileage out of even some seemingly light weight. The key is using the proper exercises, to isolate where needed while also compounding movements to experience just the right amount of overload. Now with large groups such as the back and legs you may think you’re not going to hit some areas deep enough- but trust us, once you’re done with today’s workout you’re going to adopt some of these movements into your routine.
