This effectively lowers the amount of actual work your abdominal area does and thus you’re not getting the bang for your buck. The incorporation of holding the weight not only puts a greater load for you to work with, but also forces you to maintain ab contraction for longer. Like with any HIIT routine, the name of the game is to try to keep going. If you really feel the fatigue you can slow down but try as least as possible to stop as the goal is to maintain that high intensity- taking your time is definitely more beneficial than stopping entirely!
